This year, I decided to spend my birthday in the city that never sleeps. Joined by my best friend, we packed our bags and set off for an unforgettable adventure! 

Arrival and Check-In at INNside by Melia

We arrived in NYC on Saturday, and checked into the stylish INNside by Melia. This was a great place to stay, and the location mas is the perfect place to stay. The hotel’s modern decor and welcoming vibe made us feel right at home. Our room offered views of the city, and we couldn’t wait to relax and freshen up before our first night out.

Saturday Night: Chelsea House

For our first night, we headed to Chelsea House The atmosphere was chill, laid back and filled with creative energy and vibrant conversations. We indulged in some bites and cocktails while soaking in the artistic vibe of the Chelsea neighborhood. A nice kickoff to my birthday weekend!

Sunday Funday: Harlem and Broadway

Sunday was all about exploration. We made our way to Harlem for brunch at Angel of Harlem. The food was delicious—think flavorful dishes that celebrate the rich culture of the area. We savored every bite. They also had a DJ and bottomless mimosas! Music and mimosas are some of the best things brunch has to offer in my opinion. The live music was so bomb and I think this just might be one of the best places for brunch vibes.  It was most definitely a vibe and I would absolutely go back.  

After brunch, we headed to Times Square The bright lights and bustling energy were infectious! We snapped countless photos and enjoyed the sights before making our way that nigh to the highlight of the day: the Broadway play Moulin Rouge. One of the things on my bucket list was going to a Broadway show. The performances were breathtaking, and the music had us singing along! It made for such a great and memorable night in New York City. 

Birthday Celebration: Monday, September 9th

Monday was my birthday, and it started off perfectly with breakfast at the hotel restaurant, The Wilson. The ambiance was chic and inviting, making it the ideal spot to celebrate. We enjoyed a leisurely breakfast filled with a relaxed atmosphere and anticipation for the day ahead.

After breakfast, I had my makeup professionally done…thank you GLAMSQUAD, which made me feel like a million bucks. The glam was just what I needed to feel fabulous for the day’s events!

NYFW Trunk Show and Evening Festivities

That day, we attended a the Danny Nguyen NYFW trunk show at Jimmy Crystal which was an absolute dream! Surrounded by fashion enthusiasts and creative minds, I felt so inspired by the latest trends and the artistry involved in fashion design. It was a fantastic experience to be part of New York Fashion Week, even if just for a day. It was a dream come true and I literally manefested it last year as something I wanted to do. Talk about a fun way to spend my birthday. It was truly a unique experience and special occasion. God is amazing.  

For my birthday dinner, we headed to Ocean Prime the ambiance was upscale, and the appetizers were divine! The staff was so professional, friendly and even gave me a yummy buttercake birthday cake to celebrate and wish me a happy birthday. What better way to celebrate? We toasted to friendship, life, and another beautiful year ahead. It was such a special day. 

To cap off the night, we headed to the rooftop of M Social Hotel for cocktails with a view of Times Square. Sipping drinks under the stars, surrounded by the iconic skyline, was the perfect way to wrap up my birthday celebration.This is one of the most perfect spots for a great time on the rooftop in Times Square. It was one of the best ways for me to end my birthday. We had a good time at the rooftop bar and it was really nice. 

Reflection

As I reflect on this incredible birthday weekend, I’m filled with gratitude for the experiences, the laughter, and the memories created with my best friend. NYC truly has a way of making you feel alive, and I can’t wait to return for more adventures. Here’s to another year of travel, friendship, and fabulous experiences!
