Unapologetically black and why should I be anything else? What and who I am I can’t hide..literally!
I love being a black women but it definitely comes with its challenges. Being a black women means having to work twice as hard as everyone else, be strong even when you wanna scream and cry inside…all while trying to remember that you are worthy even when the world is constantly telling you that you aren’t.
And let’s not forget about all those lovely stereotypes that come with being a black woman. You can’t even speak up for yourself without being seen as the “Angry” black woman.
When I walk in a room I’m seen as a black woman which comes with so many negative assumptions..loud, full of attitude, “ghetto” (wtf does that even mean) it’s hardly ever anything good..
When it comes to women of other ethnicities it’s not loud it’s…”outspoken” it’s not attitude it’s “wit”and don’t even get me started on the term “ghetto” when really we are all just products of our environment..but no matter what I’m thought to be I know who I am and I’ll never apologize for it…
