I had the pleasure of visiting Chicago and I really enjoyed myself. Chicago is filled with bold architecture and a beautiful skyline. If you get the chance to visit the Windy City especially in the summer when the weather is lovely…you should!

Experiencing Chicago while staying at Ivy Hotel was amazing! Ivy Hotel is a luxury boutique hotel located in downtown Chicago. They offer spacious, luxurious suites and they have a great rooftop bar! 

You can enjoy cocktails and some great food all while taking in the skyline Chicago views. The sky terrace offers a full drink and food menu. The chicken wings and sweet and spicy shrimp are a must have! 

The staff is so helpful, friendly and always nearby to answer any questions you might have!

Casual Dining

-Nando’s

Nando’s is a South African fast casual chain that specialises in flame-grilled peri-peri style chicken. Nando’s offers a large variety of options from chicken bowls, sandwiches and platters. They also offer yummy alcoholic drink and desserts. 

Fine Dining

-Vermilion 

This high-end eatery showcases an eclectic fusion of Indian & Latin cuisines in a sleek, modern setting. They offer steak and chicken with bold flavors! I recommend the butter chicken and naan. Vermilion will make for a great and memorable dining experience.

Brunch Sunday Funday

-80 Proof 

If your looking for a Sunday funday brunch spot head to 80 proof! This venue offers a buffet style experience with 3 levels including a vegan menu along with classic bar food. Oh and did I mention they also have a live DJ?! Reservations aren’t required for bar seating. It does start to get packed the later you get there so plan accordingly. All in all it was a whole vibe…I highly recommend it!

Where to explore:

For all of my art lovers…head to the Contemporary Art Museum! MCA is one of the world’s largest contemporary art venues. 

The MCA documents contemporary visual culture through painting, sculpture, photography, film, and video. The museum is located in the heart of downtown near Water Tower Place. 

Chicago Architecture River Cruise

This cruise goes down the Chicago River to see the city’s famous architecture on this boat tour. This tour tells you history of the city and all about the beautiful architecture! You get to enjoy the best vantage point to admire the distinct city skyline and architecture. You’ll also see more than 40 buildings including the Wrigley Building and Willis Tower. All boats have full restrooms and some have a full bar! 

Museum of Ice Cream 

This popular tourist attraction has multi sensory ice cream installations. It’s a playground filled museum with unlimited ice cream! It’s a really fun place to learn about ice cream. It’s filled with instagram worthy moments and perfect for the kiddos..and adults thanks to the full bar!
