Puerto Rico you were lovely! It was truly a pleasure. Puerto Rico is a landscape of mountains, waterfalls, and tropical rainforest. San Juan is the capital of Puerto Rico and it’s a beauty. We stayed at The Condado Vanderbilt Hotel. The people were courteous, the view was amazing and the service was great! If you’ve never been you should go!
Now first let’s get into the fabulousness that is The Condado Vanderbilt Hotel! I fell in love with the property as soon as we walked through the doors. The details of the property just scream luxury. Everything from the spiral staircase entrance, the grand 1919 Restaurant that sits between the cigar and wine bar and the oceanfront restaurant views.
We ate at Ola for breakfast and the Atlantic Ocean was our view. Ola serves breakfast, lunch and drinks. They had the best fresh fruit! Lunch was at Tacos & Tequila. They had the best margaritas! I ordered nachos for a appetizer and the chicken tacos for my entree. It was so good. The food was so fresh and so well made. Tacos & Tequila was absolutely my favorite restaurant we ate at during our time in Puerto Rico. We smoked cigars at the Avo lounge. It was a whole vibe..you just had to be there. We sipped alcoholic beverages by the pool as we overlooked the ocean. All in all the perfect girl trip vibes.
We also explored Old San Juan. This is said to be the real Puerto Rico. Viejo San Juan is home to the San Juan National historic site with buildings dating from the 16th century. Brightly colored houses line cobbled streets alongside shops, restaurants, and bars! I’m so glad I was able to experience it.
Next up was Ziplining! Ecoquest specializes in organizing excursions in Puerto Rico including ziplining. Ziplining had been on my bucket list for a while so being able to do it was such a fun experience! Not as scary as I thought it would be. We did the Campo Rico Zipling adventure. If you do decide to zip line in Puerto Rico be prepared for a 15 minute hike, 5 canopy bridges, and 5 ziplines. The ziplines fluctuate between 500 to 1,000 feet long and between 50 and 200 feet high. We had no idea of everything it included. We were in for quite the surprise! All in all a great experience that I would do again.
Now let’s talk Puerto Rico nightlife! All the locals kept telling us about La Placita so of course we had to experience it for ourselves. We headed to La Placita for our last night in Puerto Rico. I can see why it is considered a must stop for anyone visiting Puerto Rico. The location was founded more than 100 years ago as a market place. During the day La Placita is a market with some restaurants. In the evening it’s the absolute place to be with restaurants, bars, clubs, and salsa dancing! Talk about the full Puerto Rico experience.
More than anything I just truly enjoyed making memories with people I love. Puerto Rico was a beauty. I can’t wait to visit again. I know that San Juan has much more to offer than what I was able to see in the amount of time I was there. Which is why I will definitely be going back!
