Hubby and I headed to Margaritaville for a quick lil weekend getaway. Sometimes some of the best things to do are outside of Houston. Small towns like Lake Conroe can be a great place to go if you’re looking for something to do. Often times it’s also more cost friendly than going to other top attractions. The best part..it’s only a short drive from Houston. This makes it the perfect place for a weekend with your significant other or a family fun weekend. Margaritaville has a large list of things to do so that you can have the best time. This lake resort is one of the best places to go for some quick fun. Margaritaville is located in Lake Conroe, Texas. This waterfront resort also has acres of land which makes it great for golfing. This resort has luxury suites and waterfront cottages which is pretty impressive when it’s just a quick road trip away. The resort not only holds special events but they also offer top things to do such as jet-skiing, paddle boarding, kayaking and so much more.

This place offers natural beauty and fun things to do in the best ways. There’s a full spa if you want to simply relax and when you’re ready for something more you can check out the live music and live Entertainment at the Landshark Bar and Grill. What I really like about this resort is that they truly make an effort to keep the guest entertained. They offer a full calendar of events with things to do. The events and unique experience will vary based on the time of year but there’s always something to do. Unfortunately for us the crawfish festival was cancelled so we didn’t get to attend it like we wanted to. But they offer watch parties, live DJ’s at the boathouse bar and lounge, family movie nights, party cruises. This place isn’t like your typical amusement parks and it doesn’t have any roller coasters but they do have a waterpark and lazy river which is a major attraction for the kiddos. You won’t see a sea turtle and I wouldn’t say make this your family vacation but It’s the perfect way to combine being able to enjoy both adult and kid friendly activities.

We relaxed at the pool ordered drinks and soaked in the sun. The swim up bar is a really nice and convenient option. You also have the option of ordering your drinks online and have the waiter bring them to you which is what we opted for. Also side note: It never hurts to have your own bottle of alcohol! While I enjoy having the full experience anytime I travel, the margaritas weren’t great. I was glad we were able to go back to our room and make our drinks as strong as we wanted! The resort also has a few restaurants to choose from and they serve everything from burgers to tacos. My favorite meal was actually breakfast at the License to Chill bar and Cafe. The menu was pretty limited so I ordered the breakfast quesadilla and substituted the ham for turkey sausage. The food is very similar to an all inclusive resort, it’s decent but not amazing. Overall we enjoyed ourselves and got to spend some much needed time together. We didn’t grab anything from the gift shop but it’s full of goodies to take home as a reminder of the beautiful memories made in Margaritaville.
