We landed in Amsterdam at the schiphol airport and headed to Lady Bird Fried Chicken for lunch. It was a short walk from our hotel. We started our day with brunch at Moak Pancakes Known for their fluffy pancakes and creative toppings. We opted for their more classic dishes. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it a great spot to fuel up for a day of exploration. This place was a good idea as it was a short walk from the hotel but still near main streets with other places. After leaving brunch we stopped at a vintage shop and found unique pieces that we’d never find in the states. ahhh the beauty of travel..

Later that day, we were excited for our Pure Boats Amsterdam Luxury Sunset Cruise. This cruise allowed us to experience the city’s stunning canals in the best way, with a canal cruise from a unique perspective. As we glided through the water, we enjoyed a glass of wine while taking in the picturesque views. This is a great way to see Amsterdam on your first trip. It can make for a really great time.

Friday began with a visit to the Van Gogh Museum, a must-see for any art lover. We marveled at the extensive collection of Van Gogh’s masterpieces, learning about his life and artistic journey. Bottomless Brunch at Cut Throat Amsterdam
After our cultural morning, we indulged in a bottomless brunch at Cut Throat Amsterdam. The vibe was trendy, and the food was delicious! This was some of the best food we had in Amsterdam! We enjoyed a variety of brunch classics along with bottomless mimosas, making it a perfect way to add to this trip. Highly recommend!! I’m still dreaming about the jerk chicken hash and jerk chicken sliders. 10/10!!!

Post-brunch, we decided to do some shopping at TK Maxx. This store is known for its discounted designer finds, and we couldn’t resist hunting for unique treasures. Sweet Treats: Stroopwafels and Ice Cream
No visit to Amsterdam would be complete without trying stroopwafels! We found a local vendor and indulged in these delicious thin waffle cookies filled with caramel syrup. They were heavenly! Afterward, we headed to Lourens Amsterdam for some refreshing ice cream. The flavors were inventive, and we savored every scoop while walking around and taking in the beautiful canals as our view. This still feels like a pinch me moment.
Fabel Friet: A Fries Adventure
As evening approached, we made our way to Fabel Friet for some classic Dutch fries. Served with a variety of sauces, these fries were the perfect comfort food. We enjoyed them while strolling through the charming streets of Amsterdam, soaking in the city’s vibrant energy. Fabel Friet is a must try in my opinion. These fries were so good…i don’t even have enough time to truly express the goodness.
Bike Ride to the Park
To burn off some of the delicious food we indulged in, we rented bikes and rode to Vondelpark. Cycling through this beautiful park was a highlight of our trip. The lush greenery and lively atmosphere made it a perfect spot to relax and people-watch. I was so hesitant of riding bikes in Amsterdam once we got there because it was a lot of people on bikes and it was a bit overwhelming. I faced the fear full on and I’m glad I did because biking in Amsterdam…..like what?? I really got to do that and it’s a memory I’ll never forget.
Dinner at Kebab King
After our bike ride, we had dinner at Kebab King, a local spot and one of my favorites of the trips. It was so good we had it twice. The chicken shawarma wrap with fries was delicious!! Each bite was flavorful and satisfying. It was a casual dining experience that perfectly capped off our busy day. Highly recommend!!
Red Light District: Museum of Prostitution
To end our Amsterdam adventure, we decided to explore the Red Light District. We visited the Museum of Prostitution, which offered a fascinating and unique insight into the history and culture of sex work in the city. It was an eye-opening experience, and we appreciated the informative exhibits that challenged stereotypes. It’s a side of Amsterdam that is often talked about so it was important to me that I explore it.
