Fun Adventures in Atlanta: Celebrating My Best Friend

Hey y’all! I’m thrilled to share my latest adventure in vibrant Atlanta. I joined forces with my best friend to celebrate her birthday in style. I’m so excited to discuss this journey through the sights, sounds, and tastes of this lively city that left us with unforgettable memories.

Atlanta can be known as the “Capital of the South” Atlanta is a melting pot of rich history, diverse cultures, and thriving arts and entertainment scenes. It has an iconic skyline, mouth-watering cuisine, and warm Southern hospitality which is why it was the perfect destination for my besties birthday! When I asked where she wanted to go for her birthday she said Let’s go to Atlanta. She wanted to be immersed in black culture. Although it wasn’t her first time in Atlanta she still had plenty she wanted to do. It was my first time in this lovely city and I was of course excited to visit for my self!

Some say that every successful trip starts with a well-crafted itinerary. Even though we didn’t get to everything on the itinerary (which just means we’ll have to go back) we did plan our activities to ensure we experienced the best of Atlanta. We wanted to be sure to balance sightseeing, shopping, and relaxation. Also with this being a hotel sponsored trip I wanted to be sure we used our time wisely!

We stayed at Hyatt Centric Buckhead Atlanta. The Location alone makes this a great hotel choice.  One of the best things about this hotel is that It’s close to downtown Atlanta. Hyatt Centric Buckhead is located in the vibrant neighborhood of Buckhead in Atlanta, Georgia. Buckhead is known for its upscale shopping, dining, and entertainment options, making it a prime destination for travelers. It was so close to all of the restaurants and tourist attractions. Also it is right across the street from Lenox Square Mall which was so convenient!

Hyatt Centric Buckhead features on-site dining options that cater to various tastes. I really enjoyed dining at the hotel restaurant. Three Arches is a great place for both dinner and breakfast.

Three Arches Dinner Recommendations:

Chicken Meatballs

Crispy Sweet Potatoes

Roasted Shrimp

Three Arches Breakfast Recommendations:

Omelette

American Breakfast

Seasonal Danish

Guava Lemonade Mimosa

Hyatt Centric Buckhead also has a great rooftop bar called Spaceman which is such a vibe! We spent our first night in Atlanta there and it did not disappoint. The music was good, the drinks were flowing and it made for a great night. It was most definitely giving grown and sexy with the r&b vibes. Atlanta comes alive after dark, and we made sure to experience some of its vibrant nightlife. Spaceman rooftop bar with a panoramic city view was where we discovered that Atlanta knows how to have a good time!

I highly recommend this spot for the weekend.

The staff at Hyatt Centric Buckhead is really dedicated to providing exceptional service and ensuring that your stay is comfortable and memorable. Service is a big deal for me, determines a lot and can make or break a stay for me. From the moment you arrive, you can expect personalized attention and assistance to meet your needs. The hotel offers a convenient retreat for travelers, with a prime location in Buckhead and a range of amenities to enhance your stay. Whether you’re visiting for leisure or business, the hotel is dedicated to providing an enjoyable experience for guests.

Some of the highlights of our trip and fun things to do:

Trap Museum! This was a must do for the both of us and I’m so glad we got tickets. As a huge music lover I couldn’t visit ATL without this experience. An experience it was! It was a great way to spend some of our first day in Atlanta. I love the immersive experience! Who doesn’t love interactive exhibits? The museum has multiple rooms that pay homage to a bunch of your favorite trap music artist. You’ll see everyone from T.I. , Rick Ross, Gucci Mane, Nicki Minaj, Cardi B and more. Hip hop artwork fills the walls and trap music fills the air. It’s perfect for taking photos, dancing, making memories and taking shots of tequila all in one place. My favorite parts of the museum…the Jezzy Room, The bar and THE STIPPER POLE which y’all know I had to hop up on one time for the one time (ATL highlight on my IG! https://www.instagram.com/jermanyonline/ ) Overall such a fun experience! High recommend for the ones looking to have a fun lil vibe in ATL this is the perfect place.

High Museum of Art Atlanta! This was a high priority on my bestie’s list for ATL. High Museum of Art is located in the heart of Atlanta, Georgia and is the largest museum for visual art in the Southeastern United States! This place is huge. This museum is a popular atlanta attraction. It’s very nice and filled with some great pieces. One thing about us…you might find us at the trap museum on Friday night and an Art museum on Saturday..cause uhm, balance. Who says you can’t have fun, do hood rat sh*t with yo hood rat friends and still be cultured? You absolutely can! After a couple of floors we decided to head out..it was a lot. After the museum we headed over to Skyview Atlanta. Skyview Atlanta has a huge Ferris wheel that you can ride and you see all of Atlanta!

Georgia Aquarium! The Georgia Aquarium was listed as one of the top Aquariums in the U.S. and I can see why. It’s one of the world’s largest aquariums. You could literally get lost just in the shark exhibit alone. The tickets for the Aquarium are $50 per person which is overpriced but it is a great Aquarium overall. This Aquarium offers seven exhibits Ocean Voyager, Sharks! Predators of the Deep, Cold Water Quest, Tropical Diver, Georgia Explorer, River Scout and Dolphin Cast…Ocean Voyager was probably my favorite. The Cold Water Quest with the sea otters and penguins was pretty cute. I will say it’s one of the best Aquariums I’ve ever been to. I recommend putting this on your Atlanta to do list if you get the time (despite ticket prices) It’s a great outting for the entire family.

If you’re looking to hit a large amount of attractions such as zoo atlanta, historic sites (atlanta history center) martin luther king monument, american civil rights movement and more you may want to get the atlanta citypass. A few things we are hoping to do on our next trip to Atlanta is visit the world of coca-cola, catch some live shows and live music and maybe even visit the atlanta botanical garden.

Atlanta is a food lover’s paradise, and we didn’t indulged nearly as much as I would’ve hoped (another excuse to go back). Don’t miss out on Atlanta’s thriving food scene! Birthday dinner was a must and we wanted to do a nice restaurant. MCK restaurant and bar was recommended so we headed there on Sunday night. MCK offers an elevated dining experience with great service. They start your experience with some warm hand towels. The menu consist of both land and sea dish options. My favorite thing on the menu was the lobster bites. These are a must try! MCK also did a great job of making my friend feel special on her birthday with a special birthday song serenade by the waiter Sean. He has an amazing talent! We didn’t get into any Outdoor Adventures (this time) it was so cold! But I’ve heard plenty of people boasts about the natural beauty and the abundance of outdoor spaces where you can soak up the sun and enjoy breathtaking views. The city seamlessly blends urban and natural landscapes so I’m looking forward to that on my next trip there!

Atlanta offered a perfect blend of history, culture, entertainment, and culinary delights. This quick trip was an unforgettable celebration and only a 2 hour flight from Houston! Such a win! I hope this blog post inspires you to plan your own Atlanta adventure with your best friend, creating memories that will last a lifetime. Until next time, happy travels!
